Today's travels lead us to Glacier Point where you can see all of the Yosemite's phenomena in one view. The views were stunning to say the least. As always, we got an early morning start which is great for beating the rush of visitors - but not as great for photography as the mountain views are usually hazy until the afternoon. We stopped for a roadside lunch in Yosemite Valley along the Merced River. There are many areas along the river where rocks (I mean boulders like you've never seen) lay scattered in the river after having fallen from the cliffs above. Seriously, some of these "rocks" were as large as our house. Thankfully no new rockfalls occurred while we were there ;)

Words are insufficient for Yosemite. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Against his will 😉, we drove up to San Francisco to see the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. We timed it right, but there was still a lot of traffic! Today was a photographer's dream! We traveled south to Monterey Bay and drove a stretch (approximately 130 miles) of US 1 known as the Pacific Coast Highway. The road winds along jagged cliffs, up and down the mountainside overlooking the ocean. There are many pull-outs where we took in the incredible views. Here's just a small sampling of the photos I captured. P.S. - I achieved my West Coast mission. Spoiler Alert: SEALS!!! PACIFIC COAST |
